robybraun That is pretty rude and it seems unprofessional of you to say that. Although you have every right to an opinion, it feels like you are blatantly putting this person down, so why not offer some constructive criticism to help them improve? :) 

pheaston I've seen this sculpture every now and again, and I have to say I enjoy the aesthetics of it, it is a very nice sculpture and I hope to do some sculpting in the future too. It looks fun to try out. What would you recommend I start out with?

Thanks! I looked at his work and I'm not too worried. 

As far as getting started in sculpture, this is my only one so far, so I don't know if it's the best way to go about it. I did write a blog post in 5 parts detailing how I built it right <a href="paulheaston.blogspot.com/2012/…">here</a>.

Accuracy-wise, I might be inclined to agree-- this was almost three years ago, and more a technical exercise/proof of concept about carving from foam, etc. But I love your tactful and diplomatic critique!
